Begin here to plan your move to Yakima

Take I-90 to I-82 to Yakima

It's one of the most beautiful drives in the west... that is if you're coming from the Puget Sound or Vancouver, BC.  Take Interstate 90 over Snoqualmie Pass towards Ellensburg.  Near Ellensburg, stay right and join Interstate 82 which will take you to Yakima.

If you're coming from Portland, an equally beautiful drive awaits you as you make your way up the Columbia Gorge.  Take Interstate 84 until you reach Biggs Junction then cross the might Columbia River and head up the hill to Goldendale.  Stay on highway 97 till you reach Toppenish.  Follow the signs to I82 and proceed west to Yakima.

If you're coming from the East like wise men and women, make your way to I82 and travel west.  Enjoy the rolling farm hills and both Mt. Adams and Mt. Rainier as you approach Yakima.

Meet the Welcoming Committee

Seriously... a welcoming committee?

Actually... sort of.  But completely optional.  If you're pretty serious about looking over Yakima as a possible place to retire to, then by all means.  Let us know and we'll have a couple people meet you at a local coffee shop to discuss places to visit including possible housing options currently available.  Take your sun glasses with you.

Yakima beacons...

Nothing happens until you make it happen.  So if you own a home or rent or live in a van down by the river, sell it and move to Yakima.
